EcoVadis login: how to access your platform and what to do if it fails

You log in to the EcoVadis platform with your email address as username and your password. The login address is in the invitation email you received from EcoVadis or from your client. If it does not work, use the reset option on the login page, or ask the administrator of your account for a new username. If problems continue, read EcoVadis contact.

This page covers the question that comes up most in practice: you know you have an account, but you cannot get in. What you do inside the platform is covered on EcoVadis questionnaire and documents. What you can do with your scorecard is covered on improve your EcoVadis score.

Sign in in five steps

Open the invitation

The invitation email contains a link to the platform. Use that link or the login address in the email. It is safer to open the platform through that link than through a search result. That way you know you are on the genuine page.

Enter your email address as username

Your username is the email address you used when you first registered. Use exactly that address, even if you no longer use it.

Enter your password

If you have not yet set a password, the activation link is in the activation email. Use that link quickly. If it has expired, request a new email or ask your administrator or the support centre to help.

Try a private window if it does not work

Old sessions and cookies in your browser sometimes cause errors. Open a private window (incognito) and try again. This fixes many messages without you changing anything.

Check that you are using the right account

If your company has several accounts, you may end up in the wrong one. Ask your administrator which account manages the assessment of your company.

Forgotten or no longer working password

The login page has an option to reset your password. Use it. You will receive an email with a link. Note the following points.

  • Enter the email address you sign in with on the reset page. A new or different address will not work, because no account exists under that address.
  • You receive an email with a link automatically. Check your spam folder about ten minutes later as well. If the email keeps not arriving, ask your IT department to add EcoVadis to the list of allowed senders.
  • If emails to your address have repeatedly bounced back (for example because the mailbox no longer exists or your domain has changed), the account may have been deactivated automatically. No reset email can be sent to a deactivated account.
  • If you no longer have access to that email address, the administrator of the account can create a new username for you.

After several failed attempts, an account can be blocked. Do not wait too long. Contact the administrator of your account, or the EcoVadis support centre, so the account works again quickly.

Changing your username or email address

A common question is whether you can change the username. The answer depends on how the account was set up.

Your username is linked to the email address used for the first registration. You cannot change it yourself. If your role changes and you get a different email address, ask your administrator for a new username. It is created in the user management of the platform.

For example, an employee of an installation company leaves the company. His email address is still linked to the account. The new contact person cannot log in. The administrator creates a new user in user management with the address of the new contact person. After that, that person can log in and take over the assessment.

So think carefully when you set up an account. Preferably use a shared business address, such as info or sustainability. That way the account stays usable when people change roles.

SSO and other causes

If your company uses single sign-on (SSO), the standard login page does not work for you. You then open the platform through the intranet or application portal of your own organisation. Ask your IT department which link applies. EcoVadis cannot reset an SSO password for you either.

Other causes that often occur:

Message or problemWhat to try
Account blockedWait a moment, then ask the administrator to check the account
Activation email not receivedCheck your spam folder and request a new activation email. If earlier emails bounced back, the account may have been deactivated
Page does not loadUse a private window, another browser, and clear the cache and cookies
Wrong accountCheck with your administrator which assessment belongs to your company

What not to do

Do not share your login details with an adviser or colleague who is not an administrator. The platform holds your company’s scorecard and documents. Anyone with the login can also change the questionnaire. Instead, ask for your own account with the right permissions, so you can later see who changed what.

Also do not click a login link in an email from an unknown sender. Use the link from the invitation from your client or from EcoVadis.

Common mistakes when signing in

Trying a different email address. Your username is fixed to the address of the first registration. A different address does not work, even if it is your work address.

Requesting a reset email again and again. First wait a few minutes and check your spam folder. If nothing arrives, go to the administrator or the support centre.

Using a colleague’s account. This causes confusion about who did what. Ask for your own account instead.

Waiting too long to accept the invitation. Especially if your client has set a deadline, it helps to activate the account straight away. That leaves you time if something goes wrong.

Checklist if you cannot sign in

  • Are you using the email address from the first registration?
  • Did you use the correct link from the invitation?
  • Have you already activated your password?
  • Did you try a private window?
  • Does your company use SSO?
  • Does your administrator know which account belongs to your assessment?

If your answer to the last question is no, start there. The administrator of the account can solve most problems in a few minutes.
